Decision & Verification
Establish what can responsibly be relied upon before a commitment. Test a material claim, identify a counterparty, reconstruct ownership, reconcile records or independently review a report.
What Aperture does
Aperture Research Works is an independent, human-led research, investigation, verification, evidence-assurance and professional intelligence practice. We examine the factual question your decision depends on, using lawful sources, independent challenge and human review.
Three client needs
Establish what can responsibly be relied upon before a commitment. Test a material claim, identify a counterparty, reconstruct ownership, reconcile records or independently review a report.
Understand an opportunity, market, buyer, supplier or partner in its actual commercial context. A list is a starting point; the useful result explains relevance, evidence, uncertainty and a defensible next step.
Know when a previously established position changes. Agree the subjects, sources and materiality thresholds, then receive checked changes with their implications and limits.
Four ways to work
A new investigation into a defined question. The output may be a brief, chronology, relationship map or deeper evidence dossier.
An independent challenge of claims or conclusions already in a report, proposal, presentation or AI-assisted document.
Continuing attention to an agreed evidence base. A possible signal is verified before it becomes a client finding.
Scoped external capacity for repeated questions, with agreed limits, priorities, review and written handoffs.
Questions we can examine
Corporate identity, ownership, management history, acquisition representations, suppliers, governance and material adverse records.
Documentary chronology, source provenance, conflicting statements, public court records and the factual layer needed by professional advisers.
Commercial opportunities, project status, regulation, product claims, scientific evidence, digital provenance and changing industry conditions.
These are enquiry areas, rather than a promise that every specialised assignment is available in every jurisdiction. We first determine the question and the sources and expertise it requires.
How specialist enquiries are assessed ↗Illustrative situations
These examples explain possible assignments. They are not claims about commissioned client work or guaranteed outcomes.
Your question: does the company being sold match the identity, ownership and operating history described to you?
Possible work: reconcile original company filings, historical names and relevant public records; test conflicting representations.
Useful output: an entity map, dated findings and a clear list of unresolved questions for your advisers.
Your question: is this the actual manufacturer, and what supports its capability or certification claims?
Possible work: identify the contracting entity, trace the stated source of certifications and compare capability claims with accessible original evidence.
Useful output: a supplier evidence brief that helps you decide what further qualification is needed.
Your question: what has formally changed, when does it apply, and what remains uncertain?
Possible work: compare original publications, event dates, effective dates and later amendments within the agreed jurisdiction.
Useful output: a dated change brief for the qualified adviser responsible for interpreting your obligations.
Why use independent work?
A search engine, AI tool, professional database or internal team may already provide the answer you need. Aperture should add value where a material question remains: identities are confused, original records conflict, an important chronology is incomplete, source independence is unclear, or a changing fact needs to be checked.
We look for contrary evidence as well as support. An assertion does not become established because it is repeated often, and a missing search result does not automatically prove that something never happened.
The result should help you understand what is established, supported, asserted, inferred, contradicted or unresolved, with the source and date needed to inspect it.
When independent evidence work is useful ↗Responsible scope
Aperture provides independent factual research and evidence assurance. The actual scope depends on the question, lawful source access, confidentiality, conflicts, jurisdiction and available competence. A matter may be accepted, narrowed, deferred or declined.
Reserved legal, medical, engineering, accounting, investment and other regulated decisions remain with appropriately qualified professionals. Research does not itself create a licence, certification, investigative power or regulatory clearance.

A practical beginning
You can begin with a few sentences: the decision you face, the fact you need to establish, the relevant person or organisation, and any date that matters. Tell us what evidence you already have. You do not need to choose a product or write an investigation plan.
We assess whether independent factual work would help. Where it would, we agree the question, lawful sources, deliverable, limitations, timing and fee in writing before an accepted assignment begins.
Start with the fact your decision depends on. Aperture’s role is to investigate and explain the evidence; your decision and any reserved professional advice remain with the appropriate people.
