The purpose of review
Quality control is used to prevent confidence, wording or presentation from outrunning the record.
The review process tests whether the assignment stayed within scope, whether material claims are traceable, whether contrary evidence was addressed and whether the final output clearly distinguishes findings, assumptions, limitations and unresolved questions.
The standard
A reviewable professional record, not an unexplained answer.
Where an issue cannot responsibly be resolved, incomplete investigation is preferable to an unsupported conclusion.

Recheck material arithmetic, units, denominators, comparisons, dataset definitions and stated statistical implications.
Contradiction control
Identify evidence that conflicts with the emerging position and ensure it is fairly addressed.
Alternative-explanation control
Test whether another reasonable account fits the available facts and whether the preferred explanation is overstated.
Bias and challenge testing control
Actively look for what could disprove, qualify or materially weaken the working conclusion.
Limitations control
Keep evidence gaps, access constraints, specialist requirements and unresolved questions visible.
Final human approval
Review wording, confidence, boundaries and usability before the output is released to the client.
Reviewability
The client should be able to see how the finding was reached.

- Facts, allegations, assumptions and interpretations are separated.
- Independent corroboration and contradictory evidence are disclosed.

Rendered-output and technical preflight are part of quality assurance.
Page-by-page inspection
Formal PDFs are rendered and every page is inspected for clipping, overlap, broken rows, unreadable tables, missing images, poor cropping and inconsistent status labels.
Technical preflight
Searchable text, page numbering, font and glyph behaviour, bookmarks, internal links, source links, metadata, file integrity and encryption status are checked where applicable.
Meaning preserved
Headings, colour, charts, captions and callouts are checked so that design does not make a weak or qualified finding appear stronger than the written evidence permits.
No preflight, render inspection, legal review, specialist review or human approval is reported as complete unless it was actually performed.
Corrections and later evidence
A finding remains tied to its evidence date and agreed scope.
New records, corrected data, later events or specialist findings may change what can responsibly be concluded. Where ongoing relevance matters, the assignment can include a defined update, reassessment or monitoring arrangement.
What quality assurance does not mean
It does not guarantee that all relevant evidence exists, is accessible or will remain unchanged. It does not convert research into legal, medical, engineering, accounting or other regulated advice.
Final human approval
A person remains accountable for release.
Paul Hattingh, Founder & Principal, serves as the final human approving authority for professional work released by Aperture Research Works. Technology may assist research, comparison, analysis and production, but it does not approve the evidentiary conclusion or the client deliverable.
For the client, this preserves a clear accountability chain between the evidence reviewed, the limitations disclosed, the conclusion reached and the work ultimately released.
