Source count can create false confidence. Aperture looks at where a proposition originated and whether later sources add independent evidence or merely repeat it.
Apparent corroboration can be misleading.
A news article may repeat a company statement. A database may reproduce the article. Another publication may cite the database. An AI system may then summarise all three as independent confirmation.
SOURCE A → reported by SOURCE B → repeated by SOURCE C → summarised by DATABASE D → repeated by AI SYSTEM E
That is not the same as independent primary record A plus independent regulatory record B plus independent contemporaneous record C.
Aperture traces proposition lineage where it is material to the decision, records circular sourcing and identifies the point at which apparent corroboration stops adding evidential value.
